Sacredness of choice

We all have choices to make every day and the sum of those choices is the product of our life. Isn’t it the essence of William Shakespeare’s question “to be or not to be?” No matter the outcome, we each have the precious gift of choice.

We sometimes look in the mirror and find ourselves reflecting on our life. We stand in judgement of ourselves for the things we don’t like in our life. We look around to find someone to blame, we reach for justifiable excuses, and we condemn ourselves. We long for some relief  comfort, or solace only to find the perpetrator of our misfortune is staring back at us in the mirror.

It’s funny how many times a day we tell ourselves that “I have no choice” or “I just can’t do that” or “This is just the hand I was dealt.” We try to convince ourselves that we have no power to change, to rearrange, or to completely disrupt our own life. This gremlin of thought, intent, and deed is the very thing keeping us stuck in our rut, unable to transform, and experiencing very little growth year after year.

The power of choice is the key that unlocks us from the self-imposed bondage we find ourselves trying to survive day after day. Choice is the wind that propels our lives toward thriving, dreaming, and becoming. It is the greatest tool towards empowering ourselves to embrace the true nature of who we were created to be and live the life we were created to live.

There is a sacredness to the gift of choice. It is a powerful tool in the hands of creative and resourceful souls. Receive the gift today and enjoy it.
